A question—despite its frequency—I am not sure how to answer.


In fact, it makes me think not of 'it' but of the inquirer. What don't they see? Is something misleading? Troubling? Do they think Art needs to be pinned to the dissecting table to be meaningful? What will satisfy them?




A revision? A translation? A place where thoughts momentarily obtain fixed forms and interact?  A graveyard? A time hole? Dada's moustache? Memories? The Bleeding Edge of the Multiverse...


Perhaps, it is more fruitful to consider the question inversely; so let us instead ask,


"What is it not?"


Pastel. Drab. Glucose-free. Restricted. Sterile. A conversation with the Pope's hat. Smooth. Clinical.


They are their own. Engage with them at your own risk.
